Would you like to be part of 78 years of Bridlington pleasure cruise history and become a seasonal crewmember on the Yorkshire Belle?
We are in an exciting position to be recruiting additional part or full-time crew members. Hours will vary week to week depending on the boat’s sailing schedule and will include weekends and evenings.
Including but not limited to:
Working with members of the public in all aspects of the operation and ensuring their safety, comfort and enjoyment whilst on board, can include supporting them to board and alight the vessel.
Lifting of large, heavy gangways onto and off the boat at varying gradients depending on the state of tide.
Cleaning and preparing the boat for and in-between the day’s scheduled cruises.
Bar work to include the sale of drinks, snacks and souvenirs, stock replenishment and cleaning.
Selling of tickets and talking to members of the public at the ticket office.
Rope work including throwing, catching, pulling and coiling ropes to secure the boat.
Receiving stock deliveries which includes barrels and cases of beer and carrying it up and down steps and gangways.
Working outside in variable conditions and going to sea in differing sea states.
Due to maritime legislation, candidates must be over 18 years old and in good physical health as the job requires lots of heavy lifting, going up and down stairs and very steep gangways, crew members may be required to undergo a marine medical exam paid for by the business. This is a seasonal role. Full training and uniform will be provided. Pay will be discussed further at interview. Volunteers also welcome however, we would ask for regular commitment to ensure we have enough crew to operate.
If you are interested in the role, please send a covering letter and CV to jobs@yorkshire-belle.co.uk to apply, or to arrange a meeting to discuss in more detail.
